Since I'm "resting", I thought maybe now would be a great time to write about our upcoming trip. I've mentioned it several times but I've kept saying I will post once we have more of the details set. Well, not every detail is set in stone yet, but we do have flights booked, a few hotels booked, and an itinerary that I believe is somewhat solid. So here goes.
Jon and I are leaving the states on June 28th and heading to Barcelona. We have a short stop in Dusseldorf, Germany, on our way over to Spain, and are planning to see the city in about 7 hours! I imagine Dusseldorf to be a cute lil German town with lots of cute shops and even more dark pubs! We'll see how accurate I am... We will be in Barcelona until July 4th. From there, we are flying to Venice. One of the scheduled highlights for the trip so far is that we will be seeing Pearl Jam and Ben Harper in Venice! We are so excited. Jon has been saying he's wanted to see Pearl Jam for awhile now and what better place than in Venice, Italy! I'm really looking forward to the concert! I've been listening to Pearl Jam pretty much non-stop since we booked the tickets. From Venice we are going to Rome and are spending 3 days there. From Rome we are flying to Athens. We will be in Athens for 2 days and then we are heading to the Greek Island of Santorini! Last night we realized that we are scheduled to be in Greece for over a week, so we may try to fit in another island. If we do make it to another island we are leaning towards Crete. Although, I'm not so sure we will ever want to leave Santorini :) On July 19th we fly from Athens to Cairo, Egypt. We are staying in Cairo for one night but will have two full days to see as much as we can there. Obviously on the list are the pyramids and the sphinx. From Cairo we are flying to Bangkok, Thailand and we will spend the remainder of the trip in Southeast Asia- until August 3rd. We haven't finalized our itinerary for Asia, but we are planning to travel all over Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam.
This trip has been really exciting to plan. Ever since Jon and I first met, we always talked about the importance of traveling and experiencing the world as much as possible. This will not be the last trip we take, however, I know this will be a once in a lifetime opportunity. Meaning, we will never again have the opportunity to take 5 weeks off work, or life, for that matter. Carpe diem!
Obviously, we are super excited and also extremely grateful that we are able to make this trip happen! If anyone has any recommendations for places to stay or things to see in any of the places I mentioned, please let us know!

Awesome Linds!!! We've made a list of places to travel next and Santorini, Vietnam, Cairo and basically everywhere in Italy are on it! Can't wait to hear how your trip goes. Asia's another big one on the list too, so keep me posted on what parts you guys really liked. Pack dry-fit everything! Tell Jon I said hi.
