Fall is such a nice time of year here in DC. I've really grown to love having 4 distinct seasons and Fall is definitely one of my favorites. In fact, it is a close toss up between Fall and Summer for my number one spot. I really love watching the leaves change colors and actually having a real reason to wear a cute fall coat. :) One of the activities I look forward to every year in the Fall is apple picking. A few girlfriends and I started going several years back and have made it an annual event for the last few years.
All my Texas family and friends are fascinated when I say I am going apple picking. I think this concept is very east coast. We just didn't do things like that in Texas, or maybe it's just that I never did... Fellow Texans feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think I have ever heard of or seen an apple orchard in Texas. I'm not a farmer, but I'm sure there is a very good agricultural reason for that!
The above pics actually weren't taken in DC, but rather in New Jersey, a few years ago when we happened to be there for this prime fall foliage. As you can tell I'm very much looking forward to this beautiful season and wanted to spread the love. Here are a few pics from our apple picking adventure. Hope I've helped you all "fall" for one of my favorite seasons :)
