Epic Snow Storm 2010

As many of you have already heard, we got some major snow over the weekend here in our nation's capital. Well most of the snow fell on Friday and Saturday, but we are definitely still dealing with it today (Sunday). The roads are slowly becoming drivable but for the most part walking is the best option. We went out later in the afternoon yesterday with our friends, Josh, Jason, and Jen, to get some "major shredding" in! Jon even strapped on his snow board. It was honestly very beautiful and certainly provided us with lots of entertainment. Depending on where you were in our area, you received anywhere form 20-30 inches of snow. WOW. That is just unheard of here in DC.

Coincidentally, my Aunt Monica and two cousins, Sarah and Caroline, flew into DC this weekend to wedding dress shop for Sarah's upcoming September wedding. They were supposed to fly out on Saturday, but obviously that didn't happen. They are re-booked on a flight for Monday afternoon. Let's keep our fingers crossed they make it home safe and sound tomorrow. (pics to come of our visit)

This has made everyone's Superbowl Sunday plans somewhat difficult. Fortunately, Jon and I have friends that live in our hood, so we are hosting those folks at our place. I somewhat predicted this may be an issue so I stocked up on some football favs when I hit the g-store a few days ago. On the menu for tonight's game are wings, chili, guac, spinach dip, queso, and possibly a pizza. Hopefully everyone will leave feeling stuffed and happy. Words to live by...

All and all, it was a fantastic weekend. I attempted to capture our excursion out into the winter wonderland yesterday. It was definitely memorable!

Enjoy!
